About Andrea

Deep down I'm a serif type. Whenever I can I'd like to go to the place where ideas come from. That's when I'm the happiest at my work. That's what I like doing most.

Something like brand creation. Starting from scratch with original thinking. One doesn't always get those.

Freelancing for 5 years now, having worked at Ogilvy, Dare, WCRS, Havas EHS, Albion London, Karmarama, DigitasLBi, Razorfish, Poke, Monitise Create, and BBH. It's a bullshit list really, cause pretty much everyone has worked everywhere. And one gets asked back all the time. Most important are my favourite agencies, for various reasons, they have been WCRS, Albion London and Poke. With Poke, being then a small team, I was made to feel like part of the permanauts. Not like a permalancer, that's different and that was more with WCRS. The most thorough brief I've had was at The Team. I shan't mention the worst. You might not know that Karmarama has the longest open-plan office in the world.

I was once placed at Kitcatt Nohr (3rd floor), only to be back in the same building on the 2nd floor, on the following contract with Razorfish. Agencies I recall with deep fondness, like Albion London and Dare, are the ones where you've either suffered through some really challenging project or made good friends. Even if you don't keep them, going back feels more like a catch-up with old friends. WCRS, the first mega-agency I worked at, was my alma mater from stepping out of the client-side into the agency side. Altogether I have 20 years of Experience in both client and agency-side. When I started out, a recruiter told me it would be near impossible to find work coming from in-house. He didn't want to put my CV forward.

My background up until then had been mainly corporate: BT, Virgin Media, AOL, PWC, and The Guardian. The first contract I got was at Dare and after 6 weeks were offered a perm role, which I declined as I wanted to get more agency experience. That's it. Based in North London, working locally and open to freelance work in either Amsterdam or Paris. I speak a little bit of Dutch and fluent Afrikaans, if that counts. Je souhaite que je pourrais parler Français. Also dipped into a bit of Hebrew.

Should you have anything on offer, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you.
